Thanksgiving and Black Friday

Thanksgiving didn't feel much like Thanksgiving this year to me. Maybe it was because we got in line at Best Buy at 5pm that night... Yeah that was probably it. I didn't have time to enjoy the full "day" that is Thanksgiving. We got up early, finished cooking... cooked some more... and more... ate... and ate some more.... and then we waited in line. The actual food was fantastic.

I made my very first herb crusted turkey, fruit salad and fruit dip, and 2 chocolate peanut butter pies. My mom made homemade stuffing and sweet potatoes, deviled eggs, and our ever famous "turkey rolls". It is so much work for all of 15+ minutes of eating... alas I have been enjoying the spoils of that meal for 4 days now.

And then it was Black Friday. Oh the waiting, waiting ,waiting... not to mention the pushing and shoving and screaming and cutting in line. I hated it. I hated every moment of it. And I mean it. Hate hate hate. I will never do it again.

I wanted to scream... and I did. When the doors finally opened and the mass exodus began, I was squished between the people stopped waiting to get in and the people pushing us forward trying to get in. I thought I was going to faint. "Let me out!" I yelled over and over... and no one would. "Stop pushing!" someone else yelled... and no one would. I thought "Why in the world are we doing this? Is it even worth it?" It isn't.

Not at Best Buy at least. I have only done Black Friday since meeting husband... and all my other experiences have been relatively pleasant. We usually Target {first} and then work our way to other places...and there was order and I never heard screaming or saw shoving {in my own experience} or had the wind knocked out of me like I did this time. I told husband that I quoted the Raven on this one -"never more".

Never ever will I go to either Best Buy or Walmart on Black Friday.... because I am not willing to scream and yell and shove to get a good deal. I would rather be at home snugglin' on my love then be out in that whole mess again.

haha, I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. Best Buy is no joke. You need serious armor. People don't mess around when it comes to their electronics.I was in line at Kohls with all the nice family people. lol. thanks for sharing, love. I hope you had a fabulous weekend. xo

Ugh Black Friday is the worst. I'm glad you're okay! Things can get too crazy in Walmart/Best Buy/Target/etc. There were a ton of reports of violence at Black Friday sales where I live. Scary stuff.

Glad you made it out safely on black friday! I ended up going to wal-mart also & after walking in decided it was too insane so we left haha {there were probably 2-3,000 people in the store}.
